Here’s a list of Universal Banks in the Philippines, as of July 2020.

The universal banking sector in the Philippines has been stable. 
This 2020 list is the same as the 2015 list.

Universal Banks have a wider scope of authorized activities than Commercial Banks.
In addition to commercial banking activities, universal banks are authorized to:
– engage in underwriting
– undertake the activities of an investment house, either directly through a separate department, or indirectly through a subsidiary
– invest in equities of non-allied institutions
– own up to 100% of the equity in a thrift bank, a rural bank, a financial allied enterprise, or a non-financial allied enterprise
– the power to own up to 100% of the voting stock of only one other universal bank or commercial bank (only for publicly-listed universal banks)
