Deutsche Bank was founded in Berlin, Germany in 1870.
It started operating in the Philippines in 1975. It opened as a representative office in the Philippines under the name European Asian Bank.
In 1977, it became an offshore banking unit of the Germany-based bank, and it was the lead manager of the underwriting of a US$105 million loan for PLDT in 1977.
It was renamed Deutsche Bank (Asia) in 1986, then later renamed Deutsche Bank AG in 1988.
In 1995, it became a commercial bank, and in 2011, it became a universal bank.
As of March 2023, Deutsche Bank Philippines is No. 27 by total assets among 45 universal and commercial banks in the Philippines. It has 51 billion US dollars in total assets.

Deutsche Knowledge Services (DKS) is Deutsche Bank Group’s shared service center for finance and global technology operations. It’s based in the Philippines. It was established in 2005 as a wholly owned subsidiary of the Deutsche Bank Group.
