im a pilipino american i would like to open a saving acct…i have an acct there 4 years ago but i close i would like to open it up again…pls guide me
Hi Rodolfo, you can open a US$ account at any BDO branch here in the Philippines. Bring at least US$500 dollars and at least 2 IDs. They might ask you your purpose in opening a US$ account. If you’re in the US, you can ask any BDO remittance partner or any of their BDO Remit branches if they’re offering a Philippine-based US$ BDO account opening service there.
I am simply trying to contact Bank De Oro, either the Call Center (I believe the email is suspended) but not sure about the 800 number. I also tried to call the Branch at Power Plant Mall. All the numbers I use, I get an error message on the phone saying invalid but they are not invalid. And I haven’t gotten my emails returned not even from a month ago.
Hi Kris, you can try sending a private message thru their official Facebook account: https://www.facebook.com/BDOUnibank You can also check out their posts and their replies to complaints/comments
wheres your bdo atm machines located in las vegas .. i need to activate my atm card while im here in las vegas
Hi Gilda, sorry there’s no BDO atm located in Las Vegas. BDO has no branch in the US. What it has is its BDO Remit offices where you can remit money and ask assistance in opening a BDO account. You can activate your ATM only in the Philippines.
My online account was locked because I input my pwd the wrong way. Now I emailed the customer service via call center and told me to delete my account and re-enroll again. I disagreed at first because I have many merchants/bills to pay regularly via auto debit. After many months have passed I emailed them to proceed, I found later that your call center was suspended, How can I re-enroll to check the status/remaining balance of my account. Presently I am here in the US and it is difficult to fly back to the Philippines due to pandemic. Please reply.
Hi exequiel, BDO now is using FB Messenger to respond to their client concerns. BDO Unibank Facebook. I hope they’ll be able to help you.
Hello there trying o contack BDO as i report my credit card i have a bill that i dont know i wanna ask how can i call call center bdo
Hi Raquel, are you able to call (+632) 8631-8000? Or you can try this: BDO Facebook Use Private Messaging
Hello! I have been trying to add another person’s account to my account so I can easily transfer money to her account. It says pending on the enrollment status. How long should I wait for it to be approved? It’s taking forever. I live in the US and I don’t have Facebook. Please help!
Hi Eileen, enrollment of another person’s account requires activation via a BDO atm machine in the Philippines, so you’ll be able to enroll that account only when you take your vacation here. Meanwhile, you can continue sending money using “Send Money To any BDO account (10k limit). If you’re using online banking (not the mobile app) to send money, you can click “Save as Template” at the bottom and create a recipient code — this recipient code will appear as an option later on when you send money the next time.
My family banks with BDO, so I am looking to open an account to transfer fund to family to aviod fees with Paypal/Xoom. The question is how do I deposit or transfer money to my BDO account without fees being I live in Florida and NY…can I make online transfers without fees from my Bank of America account? If there are fees to transfer it defeats the purpose of opening a BDO acct. Thank you and stay safe.
Hi Mark, so far the only free US-Phils transfers I know are a Citibank USA-to-Citibank Phils and those on promos like first-time customer. One valid reason to open a BDO account in the Phils is if you frequently transfer to family. You can make a big transfer to your BDO account for only one remittance fee, and then make several BDO-to-BDO transfers to other BDO accounts later on (25 pesos via Instapay (instant transfer); free via Pesonet (transferred hours after or next day).
You might want to explore transfer company WISE. Its exchange rate is one of the highest, if not the highest, for US dollar to peso remittances. I promote WISE because it uses the fairest exchange rate. The final amount is almost the same as when you exchange dollars at the best money changers in the Phils.
We have a USD account with BDO so i do not need to worry about the exchange rate….I prefer not having money dormant in any account so that wont work for me…thank you for your reply
Hi! I’m in Chicago, USA and I used my Phil Globe mobile number as the phone number to send the OTP for online transactions pand I put it on roaming to get messages from the Phil. Lately, I could not access my globe roaming due to the partner phone service here in the US, it’s always on an SOS only status thus it cannot receive SMS. I want to change my mobile number to receive OTP thru my US phone number or OTP thru my email.
Hi Alicia, when your globe roaming is okay, try logging in to your BDO mobile banking app. Then go to Profile Management, then Change/Update Customer Information, then Phone no. (I think this requires OTP so you need your globe roaming to be active). After your phone update, go to Settings and click OTP Generator and Quick Balance (if you want this quick service too). If you have OTP Generator on your BDO mobile app (bottom portion of your BDO mobile app front page), you don’t need BDO to send OTP via SMS. Just press OTP Generator whenever you need OTP in your transaction, and you have your instant OTP.
Hello,
My father passed away, and I know he has an account with BDO. I’m just trying to close out his unfinished business. I live in the U.S. and I would like to know what’s the best plan of action I should do. Is it possible to get the money that is in his account? Is it possible to wire transfer the money to a U.S. Bank account? I tried calling the international number but for some reason it tells me it’s an invalid number, email doesn’t work, I also tried using messenger on Facebook but it’s not exactly letting me tell my issue. What do I do?
Thank you
Hi Tiffany, are you the only heir? Because if there’s someone else in the Philippines, it would be better to go to BDO in person and ask for the requirements. Here are the usual requirements: Letter from Claimant, Certified True Copy of Death Certificate, Affidavit of Self Adjudication by Sole Heir or Deed of Extrajudicial Settlement of Estate (if more than one heir), Affidavit of Quitclaim with Indemnity Undertaking, Certified True Copy of Marriage Contract and/or Birth Certificate, True Copy of Heir’s Bond, Affidavit of Publication (proof that the Sole Adjudication or Extrajudicial Settlement has been published in a newspaper of general publication once a week for 3 consecutive weeks), Registration with Register of Deeds of Extrajudicial Settlement of Estate or Affidavit of Self Adjudication by Sole Heir
BIR Certification of Estate Tax payment.
If one year has not passed since your father’s death, you can claim part of the deposit amount just by paying 6% estate tax. Then to get the rest of the deposit, you file the documents listed above. The time, effort and documents are costly, so if you know the deposit amount, think if it’s still worth it to claim the deposit.
I’m from Escondido California. I’m SSS Philippines pensioner direct to my ATM BDO account since 2019. I can make a balance of account on my deposit pension on any bank but i cannot make withdraw. Please help me what should i do to get my money on my BDO ATM account.
Hi Manuel, I wonder why you can see your balance if your atm card is not activated. Your card must be active. Did you have a successful withdrawal before? What is the error message? Are you entering an amount in US dollars?
Hi , i cannot open my online banking i tried 3 times blocked, i tried to forgot password but i cannot recieved otp passcoed because i using the old number which im not using anymore. I tried to call many times the toll free 011 800 8631 8000 cannot reach them.i want to change my phone number so i could use again the online banking .please help me with this matter .thanks
Hi Janice, it’s sad but the only way to change your BDO-registered phone number while abroad outside your BDO online banking is to call them by phone. BDO is so busy these days because of the recent BDO account hacking incidents, so try again in January. Try calling during late evening or dawn hours here (Mon to Fri) when there are fewer callers. Be ready with your account details.
I HAVE THE SAME ISSUE AS NORA ABOVE. I AM BASED IN HOUSTON TEXAS AND WHEN I CREATED A LOGIN ACCOUNT IN MANILA THE LAST TIME TIME I WENT HOME IN NOVEMBER 2021, I USED MY PHONE NUMBER IN THE PHILIPPINES AS THE REGISTERED TELEPHONE NUMBER ASSOCIATED WITH MY ACCOUNT. I HAD BEEN SENDING MESSAGES TO YOUR ONLINE ACTIVATION ACCOUNT AND TRIED CALLING MANY TIMES YOUR 180086318000 BUT IT IS NOT A WORKING NUMBER. CAN SOMEONE FROM BDO SEND A MESSAGE THRU MY REGISTERED EMAIL ON HOW I CAN CHANGE MY REGISTERED PHONE NUMBER INTO MY MOBILE NUMBER IN HOUSTON. IT WILL BE HIGHLY APPRECIATED IF I CAN RECEIVE AN EMAIL. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
Hi Dolores, here are other ways to contact BDO: Email: callcenter@bdo.com.ph or go to BDO’s Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/BDOUnibank and Send Message. If the toll-free no. does not work, try the regular number (with toll fee): (+632) 8631-8000 — the paid but cheaper Viber-Out call might work.
Hi I’m Joanne, I have a BDO Credit Card in the Philippines. Before I depart for USA, I called BDO hotline number, ( Oct. 03) to activate my Card to be used in US, and vividly asked that if I purchased in Dollars, I will also pay on Dollars. The Agent, successfully activated my Card for International used and assured me, that Yes, what you Purchased in Dollars, you will also be billed in Dollars. How come as I received my Statement, I was billed all in Pesos?
Hi Joanne, I read BDO’s credit card terms and conditions and it says that they offer 2 types of cards according to currency: one with single currency feature (peso only) and the other is dual currency feature (peso and USD). Your peso and USD credit limit should appear in your statement of account or online banking or in the first document where your credit card was attached. Maybe you have single currency feature?
