NOTICE!
CITIBANK has announced in April 2021 that it’s closing down its consumer banking operations in the Philippines and in 12 other Asia-Pacific countries. It plans to focus on institutional and investment banking.
As of September 2021 though, Citibank Philippines is still operating its consumer banking services as usual and as well as before. Citibank branches, ATMs, credit cards, personal loans, online banking, mobile apps and other consumer banking services are still active and ongoing. It has not yet announced any updates on its plans.

Does Citibank Have a Maintaining Balance Requirement?
Citibank does not call it Maintaining Balance. It calls it Total Relationship Balance (TRB). Citibank considers all your deposit and investment accounts with Citibank. It computes the average daily balance of all your Citibank accounts taken together.
Your TRB is the average daily balance of your checking, savings and deposit accounts, plus the market value of your investments with Citicorp Financial Services and Insurance Brokerage Philippines Inc. (CFSI).
Your minimum monthly Total Relationship Balance (TRB) should be One Million pesos.
Yes, 1,000,000 pesos. The penalty for falling below TRB is 500 pesos per month.

NOTES:
Citibank Savings, the thrift bank of Citibank NA, was acquired by BDO in March 2014.
Citibank is a member of the PDIC. Each depositor’s Citi deposit accounts are insured by the PDIC up to 500,000 pesos.
Some facilities and promotions are not available to non-Philippine residents.
…according to citibank phil website, their trb (total relationship balance aka monthly combined min bal) is 1,000,000 pesos and their charging fee is 500 pesos. shocking…only for rich peeps
Thank you very much for sharing your updates. Now I must update my post, which was written in 2014. Citi has really shot up its TRB, from 100k to 1M! You're right, not for many people.
There are now a lot retirees coming back to Phil. Citibank should change a lot of their rules, they could make more money accommodating a lot of these retirees.
I am thinking of retiring in Phil and sm researching the best bank to do business with
Your monthly trb is 1000,000.00 and your only insured pdic 500,000.00 ,why???
You can have several accounts with each account
balance up to your 500,000 to be covered by PDIC.
If you have three accounts and the total monthly average balance is 1,000,000 then Citibank will waive the 500 peso fee.
